25 Years Limited Residential Warranty
Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. would like to congratulate
you on the purchase of hardwood flooring. In order to provide worry-free
enjoyment of your new floor, Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. is proud
to offer you the enclosed Residential Warranty, valid for a period
of 25 consecutive years, effective the date of purchase of your
pre-finished floor.
The enclosed warranty covers only hardwood flooring
produced after February 1st, 2002 and purchased from an authorized
dealer. Furthermore, this warranty benefits exclusively the original
purchaser, a resident where the floor was installed. To insure the
validity of this warranty, it is important that the new floor be
subjected to normal household use and that it be installed and maintained
in compliance with our directives and recommendations.
Meticulous production
Our « no classification flaws » warranty will provide
you with a floor in which the grade, essence and colouration of
each strip of wood respect the quality norms set by Les Boiseries
Rousseau inc. and the industry.
Meticulous classification
Our warranty covering all production flaws allows us to offer you
strips of hardwood that are identical in terms of width, mouluring
and shaping, giving your floor a uniform appearance and assuring
its stability. However, since wood is a natural material, it reacts
to changes in humidity and temperature in your home. Therefore,
at certain times of the years, noticeable cracks may temporarily
occur between the strips, even with proper installation. This is
a natural phenomenon and is, therefore, not covered by this warranty.
A Quality Varnishing
Our warranty covering all varnishing defects provides you with a
floor effectively protected by a high-quality varnish which will,
with normal circulation and maintenance according to our recommendations,
resist premature wearing and offer a superior resistance to marking.
Our varnish application procedure prevents flaking and peeling form
wood's surface.
However, some damage to the varnish is specifically
not covered by this warranty. Not covered are the following: scratches,
dents, notches, as well as all damage caused by inappropriate or
negligent maintenance, protection, or use of the floor; damage caused
by fire, burns, excessive heat, cord, water, indelible liquids,
erosion, extreme environmental conditions, all events of major force,
natural disasters, stones, sand, abrasive and corrosive materials,
animals, vandalism, pointed or sharp objects, excessive impact,
high heels, furniture legs, chair rockers, cleaning with any product
other than that recommended by the manufacturer, and any appropriate
modification of the original floor.
Please note that reduction of varnish shine is not
considered wear. However, should superficial varnish wear appear,
a claim may be made under this warranty if the wear is easily observable
and if it affects at least 10 % of the total surface area of the
installed floor. It is important to note that exposure to the sun's
rays or to intensive lighting will, over time, cause subtle changes
in the colour of the floor. This is a natural occurrence in wood
and cannot be recognized as a varnishing flaw. Our guarantee does
not cover such fading or discolouration of your floor.
Claim Procedure
For all claims covered by this warranty, you must, as soon as you
notice a flaw in your flooring, contact the authorized retailer
from whom you purchased your flooring, make sure you have your proof
or purchase. Should the retailer be unable to provide satisfaction,
please submit your claim in writing to Les Boiseries Rousseau inc.
Indicate the description and nature of the problem, and the dimensions
of the area affected. Please attach a copy of your proof of purchase
and, if possible, a photograph of the area of flooring affected.
Depending on the type of flaw, we reserve the right, according to
our discretion, to repair, refinish or replace, free of charge,
the flawed portion of the floor. Any alterations, repairs or changes
made by anyone other than Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. will render
this warranty null and void.
This warranty gives you specific rights; other legal
rights may vary from province to province. Where applicable, this
warranty is expressly given and accepted in lieu of any other warranty,
expressed or implied, including, but without limitation, all warranty
of trade quality or of accounting for all particular usage. At no
time will Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. be held responsible for indirect
or incidental damage.
Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. reserves the exclusive
right to modify, at any time, the present warranty as long as the
changes do not affect the conditions of the warranty in effect at
the time or purchase. No distributor, retailer, sales agent, representative
or fitter is authorized to modify, in any way, the present warranty
or to augment conditions included in the warranty or their duration.
Limitation de responsabilité
This warranty does not cover « rustic » pre-finished
floors or those sold « as is » from our inventory and
labelled « imperfect » or « not standard ».
Furthermore, Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. is not responsible
for any damage due to transportation, storage or the handling of
your floor, the disregard for prescribed installation preparation,
the tools used to lay the floor, any installation defects caused
by you or by a professional fitter, the absence of heat in rooms
where the floor is being laid, the absence of occupants in the residence
where the floor is being laid. Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. also
refuses to accept any responsibility for floors installed in a basement
on a cement floor, or in a room heated by a radiant heating system.
Since Les Boiseries Rousseau inc. considers
the installation of a hardwood strip to mean its acceptance, we
will not accept any claim for production or classification flaws
in installed hardwood strips. Please note that a variation, a margin
of error, or an imperfection in terms of width, moulding, shape,
as well as grade, essence or colouration or the floor, not exceeding
5 % of the quality purchased is considered acceptable by the industry
and is not considered, when less than this percentage, to be a production
or classification flaw according to our warranty. |
